Inserting a Trigger
If you have one or more complete paragraph elements that you want to assign a trigger to, you can highlight the paragraphs, and then insert a trigger. The trigger is then automatically applied to these paragraphs.
The paragraph elements will appear as embedded text in Studio.

To insert a trigger into a Documaker document
- To apply a trigger to a single paragraph: Place your cursor in anywhere in the paragraph where you will be applying the trigger.

To apply a trigger to more than one paragraph: Highlight the paragraphs that you want to apply the trigger to.
- Open the Insert Trigger task pane by completing one of the following steps:
- From the Insert group, click Trigger.

- Right-click a Documaker document and select Documaker, Insert Trigger.
The Insert Trigger task pane opens.
- In the Insert Trigger pane, complete one of the following steps to apply the trigger to the paragraph(s):
- Double-click the trigger you want to apply

- Right-click the trigger you want to apply, then select Insert

- Click the trigger you want to apply (the trigger becomes highlighted), then click the Insert button at the bottom of the pane

- Click a trigger to highlight it, then click a letter on your keyboard to quickly jump to the first trigger beginning with that letter, then double-click the trigger to insert it
The entire Word paragraph or paragraphs are selected. The trigger element is applied to the paragraph(s).
- If the trigger you want to insert is not available, click
to create a local trigger resource. After creating a new trigger, complete the previous step to insert it.
